Les Don Quichottes de retour à Bordeaux

L'association d'aide aux sans-abris fait étape à Bordeaux pour renouveler l'attention des pouvoirs publics.
Depuis mardi soir, une vingtaine de tentes de camping sont installées place Pey-Berland, au pied de la cathédrale Saint-André, proche de la mairie. Elles doivent en principe rester deux nuits sur place pour dénoncer la carence des pouvoirs publics.

C'est dans le cadre d'un tour de France entrepris par l'association des Enfants de Don Quichotte que Bordeaux constitue une étape importante. La croisade, animée par Augustin Legrand, le fondateur et porte-parole de l'association, a pour but d'attirer une fois de plus l'attention des Bordelais et des pouvoirs publics sur le problème des sans-abris et des mal logés et sur les promesses non tenues.

On se souvient de la première campagne spectaculaire lancée durant l'hiver 2006/2007 par les Enfants de Don Quichotte, tant à Paris, le long du canal Saint-Martin, qu'à Bordeaux où des sans-abris avaient campé sur les allées de Tourny pendant plusieurs semaines. Les autorités avaient promis que deux plus tard il n'y aurait plus un seul SDF dehors.

Le 15 mai prochain, un collectif de 800 associations regroupant entre autres les Don Quichotte, Emmaüs, le secours Catholique, la fondation Abbé Pierre a l'intention de mener une action de grande envergure en occupant symboliquement des sites extèmement visibles dans la plupart des grandes villes françaises.
